Are We Alone?: Jinn Existence in Islam
We’re not alone! This statement sounds somewhat like an advertisement for a science fiction film. It might be only that, but it isn’t. We aren’t alone here on the planet. We are God’s creatures, but we’re not God’s sole animals. In the last two articles, we’ve heard a whole lot concerning the jinn. We established they were made by God, before the development of humankind, from smokeless fire.
Jinn exists within our world however they’re different from it. Shaytaan is in the jinn, and his followers come out of the jinn and humankind. We know that we aren’t alone, it will become essential to recognize signs suggesting the existence of the jinn and also understand how to protect ourselves from their mischief and evil doing.
“And indeed, We created man from clay of altered mud. And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire.” (Quran 15:26-27)
“I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.” (Quran 51:56)
Since the jinn discusses this planet with us, we ought to understand their residence areas. Jinn is inclined to collect together, sometimes in good numbers, in ruins and abandoned areas. Jinn occasionally congregates in areas where it’s simple for them to create mischief and mayhem, such as market areas.
If a Shaytaan selects an individual dwelling because its area of stay, we’re awarded the “weapons” whereby we could expel them in the houses. Included in these are saying Bismillah, recalling God regularly and reciting any phrases in the Quran but notably Chapters three and two.
He commanded us to keep our kids inside at dusk because of this. He told us that the jinn have creatures and the food to their animals is that the dung of our creatures.
There are several ways which we may shield ourselves and our families out of the mischief brought on by the jinn. We ought to find His defense once we enter the toilet, once we become mad, until sexual intercourse, and napping on a trip or traveling to some valley. It’s also very important to find refuge with God when studying Quran.
“So when you want to recite the Quran, seek refuge with God from Shaytaan (Satan), the outcast (the cursed one). Verily! He has no power over those who believe and put their trust only in their Lord.” (Quran 16:98-99)
Knowing the essence of this jinn makes it feasible to comprehend some of those strange phenomena which take place in our world these days. Women and men on the tv and net claim to talk to dead people and relay secrets and cryptic info. Soothsayers and astrologists allege they can forecast the future and also read characters from the positioning of the stars and other celestial bodies. Islam teaches us that this also isn’t feasible.
Nonetheless, in the early past, the jinn could ascend to the heavens. At the time they could eavesdrop and discover out about events before they occurred. During the period of Prophet Muhammad heavenly protection has been raised and stays so still. The jinn is no longer able to eavesdrop on discussions in the celestial realm.
“And we have sought to reach the heaven, but found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. And verily, we used to sit there in stations, to (steal) a hearing, but any who listens now will find a flaming fire watching him in ambush. And we know not whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path.” (Quran 72:8-10)
Prophet Muhammad clarified the significance of those verses. “And intercession does not benefit with Him except for one whom He permits. [And those wait] until, when terror is removed from their hearts, they will say [to one another], “What has your Lord said?” They will say, “The truth.” And He is the Highest, the Grand.” (Quran 34.23).
Occasionally in this odd and fantastic world, we’re faced with trials and tribulations which frequently appear to weigh us down. Handling the mischief creating and bad goals of the jinn appear to be a much larger test. However, it’s reassuring to know that God is the source of power and strength and nothing happens without his consent.
Prophet Muhammad told us that the top words with which to seek God’s protection against the evil of humankind and jinn would be the previous three chapters of the Quran. We may occasionally need to confront the evil doing of this jinn. However, God is our safe harbor, turning to Him is our saving. There’s absolutely no protection except that the security of God, it’s Him we worship and it is to Him we turn to for support.
